    • A method of manufacturing a metal dome assembly comprises the steps of: punching a first hole in which a metal dome is inserted on an air gap layer with the bottom surface applied with an adhesive; laminating transparent double-sided tape on the air gap layer; forming a second hole extended from the first hole on the air gap layer and the transparent double-sided tape; inserting the metal dome into the first hole to be bonded with the transparent double-sided tape; and combining a base substrate with a switch for signal generation at the bottom surface of the air gap layer. According to the present invention, the metal dome assembly for fixing a metal dome used for elasticity of buttons of a mobile terminal has an improved structure, thereby preventing defective products in the manufacturing process.

    • PURPOSE: A keypad assembly and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form button member composing UV molding into one on an upper surface of base film member having predetermined thickness, thereby facilitating manufacturing process of the button member. CONSTITUTION: A button member(120) is integrately formed in a base film member(110). A processed unit(130) is formed in a base film member and recesses interval between locations of button key(121) of the button member with predetermined depth and is separated from the base film member. The base film member is at least consisted of PC(PolyCarbonate) or PET(Polyethylene Terephthalate). The button member is consisted of UV(Ultraviolet) molding. The button key is formed between the processing unit and neighboring processing unit.

    • A keypad assembly is provided to slim an electronic device by integrally applying hard waveguide layer and contact protrusions to minimize a height of a metal dome and reduce manufacturing cost without an EL(Electro Luminescence) sheet. A keypad assembly(10) is applied as a data input device of an electronic device and includes a substrate(30) and a keypad(20). The substrate has at least one metal dome(31) and at least one LED(Light Emitting Diode)(32) installed in a proper position. The keypad is mounted on the substrate to press the metal domes. The keypad has a key top layer(21) and a waveguide layer(22). The key top layer has a plurality of key tops with engraved characters and numbers. The waveguide layer is laminated under the key top layer to be used as a waveguide device of the LED and has a plurality of contact protrusions(221) on a bottom surface to press the metal domes.
