    • An input device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to enable a user to execute both push input operation and coordinate input operation through an identical operation part. An input device includes keys(1), a coordinate input sensor(3), a base sheet(4), movable contacts, a substrate, and pillars(6). The coordinate input sensor, arranged below the keys, detects an input state according to a change of electrostatic capacity as a user's finger or a conductor moves on the keys. The base sheet is arranged below the coordinate input sensor. The movable contacts, dome-shaped, are arranged below the base sheet. The movable contacts correspond to the keys respectively. The substrate, arranged below the movable contacts, has a conductive portion, such as a wiring pattern corresponding to each movable contact. Each of the pillars, located at the center of each movable contact, is inserted between the coordinate input sensor and the base sheet.

    • PURPOSE: A keypad assembly of a portable wireless terminal and a controlling method therefor are provided to selectively use a key button function of electrically contacting metal domes as using a touch screen function by a sensing portion according to a mode conversion of a terminal, thereby using a key button portion as a touch screen panel. CONSTITUTION: A PCB(151) having many metal domes(152) is disposed on a terminal body(120). When a keypad assembly(150) of a terminal operates in a key button mode, the metal domes(152) recognize number buttons by electrically connecting carbon contacts of the PCB(151) with each other. A capacitance sensor(153) used on a touch screen panel generates polarization on surfaces of a detected electrode and a sensed object when the sensed object is near, and senses capacitance changes. An integrated keypad rubber(154) formed with many key button portions(156) is disposed on an upper side of the capacitance sensor(153). The key button portions(156) of the keypad rubber(154) can be formed in plane type or in protrusion type.
