    • PURPOSE: A device for measuring is provided to measure an output power for each channel of a wavelength division multiplexing erbium doped fiber amplifier(WDM-EDFA) using smaller optical resources of signal than numbers of channels requested in the WDM-EDFA. CONSTITUTION: A measuring device contains: plural optical resources of signal(200) to generate an examining light differed each other; an optical multiplexer(202) to multiplex the examining lights generated in the optical resources of signal(200); an optical attenuator(204) to control an optical power multiplexed by connecting in the optical multiplexer(202); an optical switch(206) connected in the optical attenuator(204); a WDM-EDFA(208) connected in a first port(206-1) of the optical switch(206); a control unit of amplified benefit(210) to control the amplified benefit of the WDM-EDFA(208); and a measuring instrument(212) connected in a second port(206-2) of the optical switch(206) and the WDM-EDFA(208). The numbers of the signal optical resources(202) are more than two and the numbers is smaller than numbers of channels requested in the WDM-EDFA(208). A power of each examining light generated by the optical sources of signal(200) is same. And the whole power of the examining light is unrelated with the numbers of the signal optical source and is the same with a power of an input signal requested from the WDM-EDFA(208).
