    • PURPOSE: A turbine bucket and a turbine are provided to improve the air dynamic efficiency and to reduce the thermal and the mechanical stress of a first stage airfoil. CONSTITUTION: An airfoil(36) has a nominal profile according to rectangular coordinates values of X, Y and Z. The Z value is a dimensionless value of zero or one and converted to a Z distance of inch unit by multiplying a height of the airfoil to the Z value. The X value and the Y value are distances of inch unit to define an airfoil profile section(38) from each distance Z when connecting with a smooth continuous arc. The profile section from the Z distance forms a complete airfoil shape by combining smoothly. Thereby, the thermal and the mechanical stress in a root cooling hole of a tailing edge is reduced.

    • PURPOSE: A turbine bucket and a turbine are provided to have a bucket airfoil profile obtaining the performance improved of the turbine that secures necessary efficiency and load conditions. CONSTITUTION: A turbine bucket(22) has a bucket airfoil shape in an envelope within +-0.160 inches in a vertical direction to any airfoil surface location. An airfoil(40) has a nominal profile substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y, and Z set forth. The Z is a non-dimensional value along a bucket centerline coincident with a radius from a turbine axis of rotation convertible to a Z distance in inches from the turbine axis by multiplying the Z value by a height of the airfoil and adding the product to a root radius of the bucket. And the X and Y are distances in inches defining the airfoil profile at each distance Z. The profiles at the Z distances is joined smoothly with one another to form a complete airfoil shape.
