    • The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for preparing a suture thread having a sawtooth shape, capable of automatically and fast producing a suture tread (APTOS) having a sawtooth shaped protrusion formed on one surface thereof by passing a suture yarn of bio-degradable polydioxanone between a circular support roll and a circular knife blade, and a saure thread prepared by the method. The suture thread of the present invention is prepared by the following steps of: continuously providing a suture yarn made of a bio-degradable material; and passing the suture thread between a circular support roll and a circular knife blade to prepare the suture thread, wherein the circular knife blade is disposed to face the circular support roll and has a plurality of sawtooh-shaped blades formed on the outer peripheral surface. In this case, one surface of the suture yarn is cut to a predetermined depth by the circular knife blade, so that a plurality of sawtooth-shaped sharp protrusions are continuously formed at predetermined intervals on one surface of the suture yarn. According to the present invention, a uniform and high-quality suture thread can be promptly produced at low costs, and is useful in restoring the skin elasticity or removing wrinkles.
