    • PURPOSE: A motor driving apparatus of a washing machine is provided to enable the energy saving by the reducing of the power consumption since the rotating number of a motor is raised and thus the efficiency of the spin-drying operation can be enhanced. CONSTITUTION: A motor driving apparatus of a washing machine comprises a rectifying circuit(45), short units(47,48), inverter circuits(34,38,40) and a short control unit(42B). The rectifying circuit is connected to an AC power supply unit through a reactor(44). The short unit short-circuits the input terminals of the rectifying circuit. The inverter circuit is connected to the output of the rectifying circuit, converts the direct current to the alternate current and drives a motor, which generate the rotary driving force for performing at least spin-drying operation. The short control unit changes the number of short between the input terminals between the zero cross timings of the voltage waveform of the alternate current by the short unit according to the change of a control parameter if the spin-drying operation is performed.

The converting unit changes the torque of the driving unit to enable the clothes rod to reciprocate. The blowing fan is rotated by the driving unit. The blowing fan is coupled to the driving unit or the converting unit.

    • An automatic drying control method is provided to judge degree of dryness by using a temperature sensor, to stabilize obtained values of the temperature sensor, and to accurately dry the laundry by additionally drying the laundry according to a primary drying finished time. An automatic drying control method comprises three steps. The first step is for continuously calculating and memorizing a temperature difference(deltaT) between temperature sensors(S702). The second step is for setting a computed region correspondent to a time that a rotation cycle of a motor for driving a drum is finished and calculating region average(Avg deltaT) of memorized temperature differences(S705). The third step is for finishing a drying step when the calculated average is a desired dryness judging value(delta)(S707,S708). The computed region for region average agrees with a region where the rotation cycle of the motor is rotated n times.
