    • A method for preparing a metal cyclopentadienide is provided to synthesize the metal cyclopentadienide simultaneously with generating cyclopentadiene directly by adding dicyclopentadiene to a reaction solvent at a boiling point of the solvent, thereby improving the preparation efficiency. A method for preparing a metal cyclopentadienide comprises the steps of: (a) after putting an aprotic solvent represented by a formula(1) and having a boiling point of 130-300 deg.C and a Group I metal such as K and Na in a reactor, increasing the temperature to the boiling point of the aprotic solvent; and (b) putting dicyclopentadiene in the reactor to allow it to react. In the formula(1), each R1, R2, R3 and R4 is independently substituted or unsubstituted C1-20 alkyl; and each n and m is independently an integer from 1 to 100. Further, the aprotic solvent is diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether or diethylene glycol mono methyl ether.
