摘要： Paper and/or mat-faced gypsum board is prepared by applying a relatively thin coating of aqueous gypsum slurry containing a polyvinyl alcohol binder to one or two facer sheets. The polyvinyl alcohol binder provides adequate adhesion between the set gypsum core and the adjacent facer sheet(s) without the need for starch or other conventional binders. In one embodiment, polyvinyl alcohol is concentrated in one or more regions of the core adjacent to the facer sheet(s). In another embodiment, polyvinyl alcohol is applied to an aqueous gypsum slurry used to form the bulk core, such that the polyvinyl alcohol is present throughout the core.

摘要： The invention provides a building material composition which is particularly suitable for use as a bitumen-free sealant for construction sealing and comprises a polymer dispersion or a corresponding redispersion powder, based in particular on preferably aqueously redispersible emulsion polymers, together with polystyrene particles, ceramic and synthetic hollow microspheres, and also, if desired, at least one binder and, if desired, further additives. The sealant of the invention can be formulated in principle as a 1-component or 2-component application system. The bitumen-free building material composition of the invention not only has excellent sealing properties, such as can conventionally be achieved only with bituminous sealants, but also, in particular, an excellent contraction behaviour after application.

The fibrous mat material covering the second face extends around the wallboard edges and is overlapped by portions of the paper on the first face. The wallboard can be manufactured by depositing a gypsum slurry onto a moving web of the fibrous mat material, applying a web of the paper to the deposited gypsum slurry, and forming shaped regions in the side portions of the top surface.

CONSTITUTION: The liquid formaldehyde-free coating agent comprises an adhesive containing a crosslinked grid and a hydrophilic group chemically bonded to the grid; a compound having an elastic modulus of about 40-250 GPa; and optionally a filler. Preferably the crosslinked grid is selected from the group consisting of saturated or unsaturated polyester, polyurethane, polycarbonate, alkyd, polyamide, polyacrylate, polymethacrylate, epoxy, resin-phase polymer, maleic acid or its anhydride polymer and copolymer, ionomer, vinyl pyrrolidone polymer and copolymer, poly(vinyl alcohol) polymer and copolymer, hydrophilic graft-having polymer and copolymer, thermosetting resin, carbomer resin and their combinations. Preferably the hydrophilic group is selected from the group consisting of an ionic group, a neutral hydrophilic group and their combination.
