    • An energy absorber (3) consisting of a combination of rubber and metal is located between the railway vehicles (A,B). The coupling comprises a toroidal piece (1) with a cylindrical bore (4) in its centre, connected to one vehicle (A), with a truncated surface in its lower part and cylindrical in its upper part. These define first (1A) and second (1B) external cylindrical surfaces,. A cylindrical pivot (17) fixed on the base plate is engaged in the cylindrical bore. A toroidal articulation part (13) fixed on the base plate ensures articulation between the base plate and the toroidal piece. The energy absorber is located between the external cylindrical surface of the toroidal piece and the surface (20B) of the vehicle. Shear bolts (22) hold the support piece to means of longitudinal translation (23) fixed to the support arm (24) connected to the vehicle (B).

    • PURPOSE: A pivot device for railroad car is provided to prevent a fluctuation by flexibly supporting loads occurring from front, rear, left and right sides on riding, easily manufacture by cutting off the number of processes, cut down manufacturing cost and simply implement maintenance. CONSTITUTION: A pivot device(10) for railroad car comprises a center pivot(1), many cross stoppers(2) and many rubber springs(3). The center pivot(1) has a center axis, a supporting portion and a body and welded to the lower frame of the chassis of a railroad car. The cross stoppers(2) are formed of sliding portions engaged to a shock absorbing part by screws and engaged to second plates(42) by screws by facing the other cross stoppers(2) about the center pivot(1). The rubber springs(3) are formed of rubber plates and steel plates attached to both sides of the rubber plates. The rubber springs(3) are engaged to the second plates(42) by screws by facing the other rubber springs(3) about the center pivot(1). Therefore, the simple structure flexibly supports the loads occurring from front, rear, left and right sides on riding.
