    • The present invention relates to an inkjet printer for imaging on a continuous web of a recording medium as the continuous web of the recording medium moves toward a process direction. The inkjet printer prepared by the present invention comprises an inkjet printing head which is formed to discharge ink on a continuous web of a recording medium; a medium transporting unit which includes a roller having a first end part and a second end part and where the roller is placed inside the printer at a supporting location for the recoding medium before the inkjet printing head discharges the ink on the continuous web of the recording medium; a transmitter which is placed at the first end part in order to transmit laser beams across the roller along a first path; a receiver which is placed at the second end part of the roller, and receives the transmitted laser beams, is determined to be positioned between the transmitter and the receiver, and the roller, and generates a first signal by reacting to part of the continuous web of the recording medium for changing the direction of laser beams from the first path; and a controller which operates by being connected to the receiver in order to receive the first signal and generate a second signal for changing the operation of the inkjet printing head and the medium transporting unit.
