    • PURPOSE: An electrode wire for electrical discharge machining and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the separation of broken grains, thereby preventing the generation of fine particles in electrical discharge machining. CONSTITUTION: An electrode wire for electric discharge machining comprises a core wire(12), a first alloy layer(22), a second alloy layer(23), and grain pieces. The core wire is formed of first metal. First metal is formed of one of copper, brass or a copper alloy. The first alloy layer is formed on a boundary portion of the core wire and second metal. The first metal is mutually diffused to the second metal direction so that the second alloy layer is formed. The second metal is formed of one of zinc, aluminum, and tin or an alloy thereof. Grain pieces are formed on a surface of the electrode wire for electric discharge machining.

    • A wire electrode for electric discharge machining which creates less find dusts and improves the surface roughness of a workpiece during electric discharge machining.
