    • PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a gold foil sheet is provided to attach raw material having a certain approach angle to a roller surface to form a flat gold foil sheet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing a gold foil sheet is composed of an upper roller(10) and lower roller(20) opposing to the upper roller. The raw material(30) of noble metal is supplied from a leading edge of the upper and lower rollers(10,20). The raw material(30) is attached to an outer surface of one of the rollers to form a flat sheet material. The upper roller and lower roller have a different diameter each other to attach the raw material to one of the rollers. The flat gold foil sheet has the constant strength through an entire length.

    • PURPOSE: An asymmetric processing apparatus and method and a material processed using the same are provided to improve room-temperature formability of extruded-rolled materials by arranging a slip system to easily induce shear transformation at room temperature. CONSTITUTION: An asymmetric processing method comprises a step of pushing out a material through dies(230) with an extrusion hole having an asymmetric shape in the planar direction of the material to induce internal shear transformation along the thickness of the material and extrude the material(250), thereby obtaining an extruded material(260) and a step of pushing the extruded material between first and second rolls(101,102) with difference diameters to induce shear transformation on the extruded material and roll the extruded material, thereby obtaining a rolled material. The extrusion hole of the dies includes a tapered portion(234) varying in width in the extrusion direction of the extruded material.

    • PURPOSE: An asymmetrical rolling device and method and a rolled material sheet produced using the same are provided to prevent slip of a work piece and reduce bending of the work piece by applying asymmetrical shear stress, caused by a different between the diameters of rolls on both sides, while the rolls are operated at the same rotational linear velocity. CONSTITUTION: In an asymmetrical rolling method, a work piece(104) is rolled through first and second rolls(101,102) with first and second sides(104a,104b) contacting the first and second rolls. The second roll has a diameter greater than that of the first roll and a rotational angular speed different from that of the first roll. The work piece is rolled between third and fourth rolls(201,202) with the first and second sides contacting the third and fourth rolls. The fourth roll has a diameter greater than that of the third roll and a rotational angular speed different from that of the third roll. Therefore, different shear stresses are applied to the first and second sides of the work piece.
