    • PURPOSE: A method for treating ammonia wastewater generated from coke carbonization in coke oven is provided, which treat ammonia by decomposing using steam at carbonization tower, so that the load of the treatment facility can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: The treatment method comprises the following steps of supplying sodium hydroxide into the ammonia water influent to the carbonization tower(20) by a ratio of 2 to 3 mol per fixed ammonia molecule; keeping the temperature and pressure of the carbonization tower(20) at 130 to 150 deg.C and 100 to 200 torr; and feeding inert gas for stripping ammonia gas through the top of the distillation tower(20) to atmosphere.

    • PURPOSE: A desalting apparatus using steam evaporating from sweater is provided to improve production efficiency by cooling the steam, evaporating from the seawater, using deep seawater and condensing the steam and to economically produce fresh water. CONSTITUTION: A desalting apparatus(10) comprises: a main body(30) which is installed on a marine construction(20) and includes a movement space of deep seawater inputted from a sweater inlet(40); an air transfer unit(70) which transfers wet air, which is suctioned from an air inlet(60), to the main body and freezes steam through heat exchange of the deep seawater; and a fresh water separating unit(80) which produces fresh water by collecting the frozen steam and discharges the air. The air inlet includes a collector(82), an suction tube(64), and a suction pump(68).

    • A method for stripping polymer dispersions is provided to extract hydrophobic volatile organic compounds in a more effective manner as compared with a single-jacket tube design. A method for stripping polymer dispersions includes the steps of: feeding polymer dispersions(10) and steam(20), wherein the dispersions comprise aqueous emulsion polymers and volatile organic compounds; feeding the polymer dispersions and steam to strippers(30); removing at least a part of the volatile organic compounds from the dispersions; transferring a part of the volatile organic compounds to the steam; and separating the steam from the aqueous emulsion polymers in a separator vessel(40). The stripper has (a) a ratio of a surface area to volume of at least 10:1 l/m and (b) comprises at least one heat exchangers in parallel or in series, wherein the heat exchanger is a shell and tube or spiral type heat exchanger.
