    • PURPOSE: A fuel filter for diesel fuel is provided to simply make a box filter at low price, suitable for efficient mass production, and capable of favorable waste disposal and to simplify the structure of the box filter by forming a housing that is made from plastic. CONSTITUTION: A fuel filter for diesel fuel is formed by a box filter(10) including a housing(19) made from plastic. The housing is composed of a beaker-like upper part(21) for receiving a filter member(22) and a pot-like lower part(24) for receiving a water storage chamber(23). The upper and lower parts are mutually fixed and welded to be sealed at free edges(25,26) thereof. Inlet and outlet openings(29,31), sealing devices(46,47) and a fixing device(45) are arranged to a base part(28) of the upper part.

This way, a filter block may include a large amount of media in a small cartridge or package volume, and the filter block may exhibit good flow distribution and low pressure drop. Sub-blocks of the filter block may be integrally formed together into the filter block, or may be directly connected, for example, preferably without any housing or internals clamping or fastening the sub-blocks together.
