The second electrode module faces the first electrode module in the contaminated soil. The second electrode module includes an anode and a second filling member. The power supplying part supplies power to the first electrode module and the second electrode module. The first filling member and the second filling member are bentonite.

    • PURPOSE: A method for removing heavy metals from sediments is provided to remove heavy metals from sediments including the heavy metals to have useful resources and similar soil. CONSTITUTION: Sediments including heavy metals are inputted to an electrokinetic purification system including an anion room with an anion and a cathode room with a cathode. The current is supplied to the electrode to make current density of 0.1 to 2 mA/cm^2 or voltage slant of 0.1 to 2 V/cm and circulated water is supplied to the anode room or cathode room. The cadmium, copper, lead, chrome, zinc are moved to anode or cathode from the sediments by electro-osmotic, electro-phoresis, and electro-migration phenomenons under an electric field. The anode is a titanium electrode coated with platinum. The cathode is a graphite electrode. The nitric acid solution is circulated in the cathode room.

    • PURPOSE: A power reducing type electrokinetic soil purifying method is provided to maintain soil purifying performance and reduce power consumption by periodically repeating the supplying state of power. CONSTITUTION: A power supplying unit(10) fixes a positive electrode part(20) and a negative electrode part(30) at opposite positions. Contaminated soil is arranged between the positive electrode part and the negative electrode part. The positive electrode part supplies an electrolytic solution. A power supplying process continuously repeats power-on time and power-off time. The power-on time and the power-off time respectively maintains for 1 to 2 seconds. In the power supplying process, the current density of power is between 0.1mA/cm^2 to 10mA/cm^2 or the voltage slope of the power is between 0.1 and 10V/cm.

    • A remediation method of TPH-contaminated soil by a combination of soil washing and electrokinetic technique is provided to minimize the generation of waste from the treatment of the contaminated soil by easily removing contaminants from clayey soil using advantages of electrokinetic remediating technique after promptly removing oil from sandy soil while performing a wet process of separating particle sizes of oil-contaminated soil. A method for the remediation of TPH(total petroleum hydrocarbon)-contaminated soil comprises the steps of: treating the TPH-contaminated soil by soil washing and performing a wet process of separating particle sizes of the TPH-contaminated soil to separate remediated sandy soil with a particle size of at least 0.1 mm and non-remediated fine soil with a particle size of less than 0.1 mm from the TPH-contaminated soil; injecting the separated fine soil that has not been remediated by soil washing into a vessel in which an anode chamber having an anode formed at both ends thereof and a cathode chamber having a cathode formed at both ends thereof are formed; and supplying an electric current to the electrodes to obtain a current density of 0.1 to 10 mA/cm^2 or a voltage ramp of 0.1 to 10 V/cm, supplying a washing solution containing an electrolyte to the anode chamber, and moving the electrolyte-containing washing solution through the fine soil by an electric field of the cathode chamber to remediate the TPH-contaminated soil. Further, the electrolyte is MgSO4, NaOH, NaCl or NaNO3.
