摘要： A surface light source having a spacer-integrated plate and a backlight unit having the same are provided to accurately control a height of a discharge space by forming the spacer and the plate into one unit to simplify a manufacturing process. A substrate(220) is opposite to a first substrate(210). An encapsulation member(230) is formed on an edge between the first and second substrates to encapsulate an inner space formed by the first and second substrates. A first surface electrode unit(250) and a second surface electrode unit are respectively formed on the whole surface of the first and second substrates. Plural protrusions are integrated on an external surface of one of the first and second substrates. The protrusions are adhered closely to an inner surface of the opposite substrate. A fluorescent substance is applied to the inner surface of the first and second substrates and a side of the protrusion.
