    • PURPOSE: A heat pump type hot water generator is provided to operate smoothly by controlling the quantity of a refrigerant transferred for heat exchanging with the outside air. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump type hot water generator comprises a compressor(10) compressing a refrigerant to make into the high temperature and high pressure gaseous state, a first heat exchanger(20) transferring heat between a refrigerant and water to produce hot water, an expansion valve(30) expanding the refrigerant heat-exchanged in the first heat exchanger to make into the relatively low temperature and low pressure state, a second heat exchanger(40) transferring heat between the refrigerant passed through the expansion valve and the outside air to evaporate the refrigerant, and a compensatory heat exchanger(36) receiving the refrigerant passed through the second heat exchanger selectively according to the action of a control valve(41) opened and closed according to the temperature of the outside air and supplying the heat of hot water produced by the first heat exchanger with a refrigerant.

The compressor compresses refrigerant. The first heat exchanger generates warm water by transferring heat from the refrigerant to water. The expansion valve expands the refrigerant through the first heat exchanger. The expansion valve detects the state of the refrigerant supplied to the compressor and controls the amount of the refrigerant supplied to the second heat exchanger. The second heat exchanger evaporates the refrigerant. The compensating heat exchanger evaporates the refrigerant.

The first heat exchanger generates cold water or hot water through heat exchange between water and refrigerant. The first expansion valve senses the state of the refrigerant delivered to the compressor and controls an aperture degree. The second heat exchanger performs heat exchange between the refrigerant and outdoor air. The compensation heat exchanger receives a part of the refrigerant passing through the first heat exchanger and being transferred to the first expansion valve according to the temperature of the outdoor air. The compensation heat exchanger evaporates the refrigerant by using a part of the hot water generated in the first heat exchanger.
