    • PURPOSE: A heat pump system for a vehicle and a controlling method thereof are provided to utilize a water cooled condenser using a coolant as a heat exchange medium, and heat-exchange waste heat sources from electronic units with a refrigerant, thereby improving heating performance and dehumidifying performance, and preventing the external frost of an internal condenser generated from outside air which flows in at a very low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system for a vehicle a cooling means(110), an air conditioning means(150), and a water cooled condenser(130). The cooling means includes at least one radiator(115) and cooling fan(117). The radiator equipped in the vehicle circulates a coolant along a cooling line through at least one water pump, and cools the supplied coolant through heat exchange with outside air. The cooling fan sends air to the radiator. The coolant is circulated in the water cooled condenser connected to the cooling line. The water cooled condenser selectively uses waste heat sources from electronic units according to the heating, the cooling, and dehumidifying mode of the vehicle in order to vary the temperature of the coolant. The water cooled condenser is connected to the refrigerant line of the air conditioning means, and heat-exchanges the coolant with a refrigerant which flows in the refrigerant line.     • PURPOSE: A method for controlling a heat pump system for vehicles is provided to increase the whole mileage of a vehicle by reducing electricity consumption of a PTC(positive temperature coefficient) heater. The air conditioning unit comprises an outer condenser(101), a HVAC(heating, ventilation and air conditioning) module, a compressor(113), an accumulator(115), a first expansion valve(119), a second valve(121), a second expansion valve(123), a bypass line(125), and a third valve(127). The second valve is expanded by the first expansion valve, and selectively supplies refrigerant from the outer condenser to the accumulator or an evaporator. The second expansion valve is placed between the evaporator and the second valve, and expands the refrigerant flowing by the second valve. The bypass line bypasses the refrigerant to the accumulator or the evaporator through the second valve without passing through the outer condenser. The condenser, connecting to the compressor, is separated to a first condenser and a second condenser. The ejector, locating between the first and second condensers, makes the first and second condensers interconnect and connects to the compressor.
