CONSTITUTION: An air amount is measured sensed by an air amount sensor(30). A modelling process of the measured air amount is carried out as an air amount by an engine rpm and throttle opening degree(31). It is decided whether it is within a predetermined time(C1) after engine start(32). If it is within the predetermined time(C1), it is decided whether it is below the least air amount to prevent an engine stall or whether it is above the most air amount to determine failure(33). If the modelling air amount is not below the least air amount to prevent the engine stall and is not above the most air amount to determine failure, it is not failure counted with the measured air amount(34). If the modelling air amount is below the least air amount to prevent the engine stall and is above the most air amount to determine failure, it is not failure counted with the modelled air amount(35).

Thereby, the method for controlling the LPG system to simplifies structure of the mixer by installing the motor.

    • PURPOSE: A driving method for an engine by using a cam sensor is provided to start and drive the engine regardless of failure in operation of a crankshaft position sensor. CONSTITUTION: After starting an engine, traveling state of a vehicle is decided. A tolerance error in a falling edge and a rising edge of a cam sensor is compared with an established value. In case of the tolerance error under the established value, normal operation of the cam sensor is decided. In case of an error in a crankshaft position sensor, a time for one tooth is calculated in an ECU(Electronic Control Unit) by using a signal from the cam sensor while controlling fuel injection and ignition. Therefore, the fuel injection and the ignition are performed by using the cam sensor according to failure in the crankshaft position sensor. Thus, reliability on the vehicle is improved.

    • PURPOSE: Detecting device and method for the malfunction of a valve are provided to check the operation of the valve according to the operation of a cam sprocket and a crank sprocket by each stroke of an engine. CONSTITUTION: An electronic control unit receives an engine output, battery voltage, and the temperature of cooling water from a vehicle speed sensor, a voltage sensor, and a water temperature sensor to decide the operation state of a vehicle. In case of a normal operation state of the vehicle, input of signals from a cam sensor and a crank position sensor is decided. By input of the signals, errors in the cam sensor and the crank position sensor are detected. In case of detection of the errors, a second alarming instrument is operated. In case of normal states of the cam sensor and the crank position sensor, the electronic control unit receives first and second signals from the crank position sensor and the cam sensor. Then, the first signal corresponding to an elevating terminal and a lowering terminal of the second signal is detected for deciding an order of a tooth on a crank target wheel generating the first signal. In case of the order of the tooth of the crank target wheel located within a normal range, the normal operation of the vehicle is decided. Otherwise, malfunction of the vehicle is decided for operating the second alarming instrument.
