The air conditioner for automotive vehicles to cool or heat the vehicle cabin includes an exhaust pipe (8) for transferring the exhaust gas from the engine to an exhaust unit; a vortex tube (10) connected to the exhaust pipe (8) to receive the exhaust gas, and separating the exhaust gas into the cold gas and the hot gas; and a second heat exchanging member (30) provided in an air conditioner case (6) and fed by any one gas selected from the hot gas and the cold gas which are separated by the vortex tube (10) in order to heat-exchange the gas with the air passing the air conditioner case (6) to feed the hot air or the cold air to the vehicle cabin.

    • The present invention relates to an air blower of an air conditioner for a vehicle. An object of the present invention is to prevent a counterflow of air from an air blowing chamber to an inlet port side and another counterflow of air at a cut-off portion, thereby preventing generation of an air blowing noise and degradation of air blowing efficiency due to the counterflow of air. To achieve the object, in the present invention, the air blower of the air conditioner for a vehicle includes a scroll casing having the air blowing chamber, an inlet port and an outlet port; and a blowing fan installed at the air blowing chamber to suck air from an inlet port side and to blow the air to an outlet port side which is located at an outer side in a radial direction, wherein the blowing fan includes a hub formed at the center portion thereof, blades formed therearound, and an annular band configured to connect upper ends of the blades. The air blower has a vortex layer forming means which forms a vortex layer of air at a gap between the fan and the inlet port of the air blowing chamber to block the counterflow of air through the gap between the blowing fan and the inlet port of the air blowing chamber, the vortex layer forming means having a structure capable of discharging the air of the vortex layer to the cut-off portion as a boundary portion between the air blowing chamber and the outlet port.
