    • PURPOSE: A heat pump system with an effective defrosting circuit using a hot gas bypass method is provided to prevent damage to a compressor and to increase the efficiency of a heat pump by reducing a defrosting cycle. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump system with an effective defrosting circuit using a hot gas bypass method comprises a compressor (10), a 4-way valve (40), a first heat exchanger (20), a second heat exchanger (30), a defrosting pipe (70), an accumulator (50), and an economizer (60). The compressor compresses vaporized refrigerant at high temperature and high pressure. The 4-way valve selectively transfers the refrigerant to desired passages. The first heat exchanger is used as a condenser in heating by heat-exchanging the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant transferred from the compressor with an indoor heat source, and also is used as an evaporator in cooling by heat-exchanging the refrigerant transferred from the second heat exchanger with the indoor heat source. The second heat exchanger is used as the evaporator in heating by heat-exchanging the refrigerant transferred from the first heat exchanger with an outdoor heat source, and also is used as the condenser in cooling by heat-exchanging the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant transferred from the compressor with the outdoor heat source. The defrosting pipe directly transfers the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant to the second heat exchanger. The accumulator evaporates the condensed refrigerant by defrosting the second heat exchanger and transfers the evaporated refrigerant to the compressor. The economizer transfers some heat source of the refrigerant heat-exchanged in the first heat exchanger to the compressor again.

A fixed size of gap is formed between the front wall or the rear wall forming the air charged space and the distributing plate.
