    • A plasma display device is provided to suppress afterimages due to the increase of a brightness level by preventing the discharge strength variation in each display cell. Column electrodes are elongated in the vertical direction and row electrodes are elongated in the horizontal direction on a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,50). The column electrodes are connected to a column electrode driving circuit(55), while X row electrodes are connected to an X row electrode driving circuit(51) and Y row electrodes are connected to a Y row electrode driving circuit(53). The PDP includes an addressing unit and a sustaining unit. The addressing unit selectively generates address discharges on respective display cells according to pixel data based on a video signal during an address period. The sustaining unit applies sustain pulses on the row electrodes forming respective row electrode pairs. The sustaining unit adjusts an interval between a sustain pulse application end time during a sustain period and a sustain pulse application start time for the next sustain period.
