    • An electronic component and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to suppress reduction of capacitance of a condenser by suppressing grain growth and spherical formation of conductive material. An electronic component includes an element body(4) having an internal electrode layer(12) and a ceramic layer(10). The internal electrode layer contains at least one element among Re, Ru, Os, and Ir and Ni. The ceramic layer does not substantially contain Re, Ru, Os, and IR. An Ni content of the internal electrode layer is less than 80 to 100 mol% with respect to a total metal component of the internal electrode layer. A total content of Re, Ru, Os, and Ir of the internal electrode layer is between 0 and 20mol% with respect to the total metal component of the internal electrode layer.
