摘要： An apparatus for lapping a workpiece including a plurality of magnetic heads supported by a tool is disclosed. The lapping apparatus comprises a rotary-lapping table having an abrasive surface, and a lapping device assembly provided so as to be movable with respect to the abrasive surface of the lapping table. The lapping device assembly includes a device provided at a lower portion of the lapping device assembly for supporting the tool and a device for respectively applying predetermined loads to a plurality of load applying portions of the tool. The load applying portions of the tool is disposed along the longitudinal direction of the tool. The load-applying device applies the loads from a plurality of different directions to at least one of the load applying portions of the tool so that the tool is deformed into a predetermined shape.

CONSTITUTION: The magnetic head wrapping apparatus comprises: a rotary wrapping table(2) having rubbing plane(2a); a wrapping head joining unit provided to be shifted with regard to the wrapping table; an adjust ring(26) elastically supported by the wrapping head joining unit so as to contact with the rubbing plane; a wrapping head attached to the adjust ring and controlled by the adjust ring; a light-movement construct body(46) attached to a wrapping head(20) so as to lightly move around a light-movement shaft(44) in parallel with the rubbing plane(2a); a light-movement construct body driving unit for lightly moving the light-movement construct body with regard to the rubbing plane; a lift construct body(64) being movable upward and downward with regard to the light-movement construct body; a back plate(68) attached to a lower part of the lift construct body in a pivot type, wherein a tool is attached to the back plate; a first actuator(70A) for correcting a balance by forcing a power at right and left sides of a pivot point of the back plate; and a second actuator(70B) for correcting a bend of a processing product by forcing an operating power at many places of the tool.
