摘要： A method and a system for providing an automatic buddy list registration service for a number-based wireless messenger are provided to offer a speedy and convenient messenger service by automatically executing consent processing according to the information of a buddy to be added when the buddy is additionally registered in the buddy list. A system for providing an automatic buddy list registration service for a number-based wireless messenger comprises a messenger server(100) and a phonebook server(200). If a buddy list registration request including additional buddy information is received from the first mobile terminal, the messenger server requests the second mobile terminal, which is equivalent to the additional buddy information, to consent on buddy addition. In this case, the messenger server asks the phonebook server whether the phone number of the first mobile terminal exists in the phonebook of the second mobile terminal. In case the phonebook of the second mobile terminal contains the phone number of the first mobile terminal, the messenger server executes automatic consent procedures, without the necessity of obtaining the consent of the second mobile terminal. The phonebook server collects and manages the phonebooks of mobile terminals, and provides phonebook information according to a request from the messenger server.
