    • PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst for hydrocarbon steam cracking which improves yield, reduces coke generated and is excellent in thermal stability at high temperature when preparing olefin by steam cracking hydrocarbons, a method for preparing the catalyst, and a method for preparing olefin by steam cracking hydrocarbons under the existence of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst for hydrocarbon steam cracking comprises KMgPO4 as a catalyst component, wherein the catalyst is a supported catalyst in which KMgPO4 is supported onto a support, wherein the support is selected from the group consisting of alpha alumina, silica, silica-alumina, zirconium oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium aluminate, calcium aluminate, and zeolite, wherein the supported catalyst contains 0.5 to 30 wt.% of KMgPO4 for the total weight of the supported catalyst, and wherein a precursor of the KMgPO4 is selected from the group consisting of magnesium nitrate hydrate, potassium hydroxide and ammonium phosphate salts.

    • PURPOSE: A catalyst for the pyrolysis of hydrocarbon vapor, its preparation method and a method for preparing an olefin by using the catalyst are provided, to improve the production yield of olefins and to reduce the generation of coke in the preparation of olefins and to enhance the thermal stability of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The catalyst comprises potassium phosphorate. Preferably the potassium phosphorate is supported in a carrier, and the carrier is selected from the group consisting of α-alumina, silica, silica-alumina, zirconium oxide, magnesium oxide, magnesium aluminate, calcium aluminate and zeolite. The catalyst is prepared by dissolving potassium phosphorate or its precursor in water to prepare a potassium phosphorate precursor aqueous solution; soaking a carrier to the aqueous solution; and optionally sintering the carrier-supported one. Preferably the sintering is performed at a temperature of 750-1,500 deg.C for at least 4 hours. Also the catalyst is prepared by mixing potassium phosphorate or its precursor powder with metal oxide powder; and sintering the mixture.
