The autotransformers are simultaneously controlled by the transformer adjustment tap so as to uniformly boost the powers supplied respectively to the autotransformers, and 3rd-harmonics of the powers are cancelled in the 3rd-harmonics cancellation transformers to remove noise, so that the powers are stably applied respectively to the phases of the underground cable.

    • PURPOSE: A digital over-current relay is provided to protect a underground transmission cable by analyzing a zero-phase current flowing to a common ground line of a cable sheath, detecting an over-current due to ground accident of the underground transmission cable and automatically operating a breaker. CONSTITUTION: A current transformer(1) is formed at a common ground line(13) of a cable sheath(12) and measures the first current flowing to the common ground line to convert the measured current to a zero-phase current signal. An input part(2) receives the zero-phase current signal from the current transformer(1). A gain adjusting part(3) adjusts and amplifies a gain of the zero-phase current signal input to the input part. A low pass filter(4) filters the amplified zero-phase current signal, and a sample/hold part(5) samples the filtered zero-phase current signal. A multiplexor(6) selects and outputs the sampled zero-phase current signal. An analog-digital converter(7) converts into a digital signal a zero-phase current signal selected by the multiplexor. A digital signal process part(8) calculates an effective value of the converted zero-phase current signal and transmits an operation signal to a breaker based on the effective value.
