    • PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for transmitting an access burst in the multimedia satellite communication system are provided to transmit an access burst to a central station by using an access CDMA code selected after selectively switching access CDMA codes assigned from the central station. CONSTITUTION: A CDMA channel transmitting unit(47) consists of a CDMA code data storage part(471), a multiplexer(472) and a CDMA modulation part(473). The CDMA code data storage part(471) is composed of a plurality of shift registers(SR10-SRN). The multiplexer(472) outputs the CDMA code data of the CDMA code data storage part(471) selectively according to a control signal supplied from a processor(53). The CDMA modulation part(473) modulates an access burst supplied from a transmitting frame generation part(46) using the CDMA code data provided from the multiplexer(472).

    • PURPOSE: A processing method for transmitting data in a set top box for the multimedia satellite communication system is provided to prevent a system error generated by the transfer speed difference between input data and output data. CONSTITUTION: A memory(461) storing data temporarily stores data inputted in parallel from a processor(53) at a high speed and outputs the stored data to a data frame generation unit(463) in serial. A status storage unit(462) stores information for the data storage states of the memory(461). The data frame generation unit(463), searching the state of the memory(461) periodically, reads stored data in the form of a serial in case that data exist in the memory, generates a required data frame(461) and sends the data frame to a CDMA channel transmitting unit(47) according to a transmitting synchronization signal supplied from a transmitting timing generation unit(50).

    • PURPOSE: A method for generating access frames in the multimedia satellite communication system is provided to generate access frames by inserting the length of preamble data variably. CONSTITUTION: An RF unit(31) executes frequency down conversion for high frequency signals transmitted from a central station(1) and frequency up conversion for the intermediate frequency signals output from an intermediate frequency generation unit(39). A tuner(32) converts the high frequency signals output from the RF unit(31) into intermediate frequency signals. A demodulation unit(33) demodulates the intermediate frequency signals of the tuner(32). A demultiplexer(34) extracts a TS packet from the TS packet data output from the demodulation unit(33). A network interface card(35) executes interfacing with a personal computer(5). A transmitting frame generation unit(36) generates and outputs serial transmitting access frames. A CDMA channel transmitting unit(37) executes CDMA modulation, mixing CDMA codes supplied from a processor(43). A modulation unit(38) carries out QPSK modulation for the data output from the CDMA channel transmitting unit(37). The intermediate frequency generation unit(39) modulates the modulation signals output from the modulation unit(38) into intermediate frequency signals.
