    • PURPOSE: A method for establishing the initial access synchronization of a satellite communication system using a DS/CDMA system in a return link is provided to increase the data transmission efficiency and reliability of packets by extracting the deviation information of a carrier wave frequency and a timing using an initial access time slot before real signal information and traffic data are transmitted and by compensating it in a terminal office. CONSTITUTION: A terminal office receives reference timing information periodically sent from a central office through an MPEG-2 transport stream(201,202) and generates a transmitting timing dependent on a return link channel structure(203). The terminal office sends an initial access CDMA burst at an initial access time slot(204). The terminal office drives a timer and transits to a standby state to receive a response message from the central office(205). A receiving part in the central office acquires PN code synchronization using a preamble of the initial access CDMA burst and extracts a frequency error(207). The receiving part calculates a timing deviation value and a frequency deviation value(208) and transfers them to a management part with demodulated data. The management part reconfigures them into an IP packet to transfer them to the terminal office(209) and transfers the IP packet to a transmitting part. The transmitting part multiplexes the IP packet into an MPEG-2 transport stream and sends it to the terminal office(210). Receiving the response message before the timer operation ends, the terminal office releases the timer and executes the next operation(211).

    • PURPOSE: An integrated broadcasting/communication system capable of internet access in an MPEG-2 digital broadcasting network and method for controlling the connection thereof are provided to configure a point-to-point communication channel through the broadcasting network, and to set up a communication channel capable of bidirectional communication by utilizing a return channel. CONSTITUTION: If a user selects an internet application program of a station(S801), the station requests connection to a service gateway(S802). The service gateway checks a subscriber(S803). If subscriber authentification is successful, the station allocates a network resource capable of being used as a transmitting/receiving channel(S804). Whether the allocation of the network resource is available is checked(S805). If the allocation is unavailable, the failure of connection is notified to the station(S806). The station announces the failure of connection to the user(S807). If the allocation is available, a return channel receiving unit of the service gateway is initialized to enable receiving(S808). The success of connection is notified to the station(S809). The station initializes the return channel(S810), and initializes a receiving channel through a broadcasting network(S811). The station announces the success of connection to the user(S812). Accordingly, the user communicates with hosts on the internet through the application program(S813). If the user stops the application program for disconnection(S814), the station requests disconnection to the service gateway(S815). The service gateway releases resources related to broadcasting channels(S816), and releases the return channel receiving unit(S817), then notifies the station of the disconnection(S818). The station releases a transmitting channel(S819), and releases a receiving broadcasting channel(S820), then notifies the user of the completion of disconnection(S821).

A modulation unit(38) carries out QPSK modulation for the data output from the CDMA channel transmitting unit(37). The intermediate frequency generation unit(39) modulates the modulation signals output from the modulation unit(38) into intermediate frequency signals.

      본 발명에 있어서는 중심국으로부터 할당받은 소정 아이디를 근거로 장치전반의 제어처리와 접속된 통신용 단말기와의 트래픽 처리를 실행하는 셋톱박스가 구비된 멀티미디어 위성통신시스템에 있어서, 먼저 중심국이 초기접속시 사용되는 CDMA코드와 채널주파수신호 및 정보서비스용 PID를 포함해 구성된 데이터를 TS패킷으로 구성하여 상기 셋톱박스로 송출하고, 이후 상기 셋톱박스로부터 가입자IP를 포함한 억세스용 제어메시지를 수신하게 되면, 중심국은 억세스를 요구한 상기 셋톱박스 가입자가 적법한 가입자인가를 판정하며, 적법한 가입자로 판정되면 데이터베이스를 검색하여 사용가능한 확장TID를 독출하여 가입자IP에 대응되게 PID 및 제어용 확장TID와 트래픽용 확장TID를 할당하여 이를 포함한 TS패킷 데이터를 생성하여 억세스를 요구한 단� ��국으로 송출하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
      따라서, 본 발명에 의하면 억세스를 요구한 가입자에게 확장TID를 할당하게 됨으로써 더욱더 많은 가입자를 동시에 수용할 수 있게 된다.

CONSTITUTION: A modulation signal of QPSK modulated 49,152 megahertz is inputted in an intermediate frequency unit(31). The intermediate frequency unit(31) converts the inputted modulation signal in frequency up conversion according to a control signal(C3) and outputs an intermediate frequency signal of 950 megahertz to 1450 megahertz. The intermediate frequency signal is outputted to an RF unit(33) through a coaxial cable(32). The RF unit(33) generates a high frequency of 14 giga hertz to 14.5 giga hertz by mixing a local oscillation frequency of 13.05 giga hertz for the inputted intermediate frequency signal and outputs it through a waveguide(34).

      상기한 구성에 의하면, 통신가입자가 멀티미디어 위성통신 시스템을 통해서 인터넷에 접속 요구시 제한적인 인터넷주소를 할당함으로써 다수의 가입자를 효율적으로 수용할 수 있게 된다.
