    • The present invention relates to an optical waveguide and a method for manufacturing the same. The optical waveguide comprises a first substrate with an engraved core formation groove on the top; a core layer inside the engraved core formation groove; a BPSG bonding layer on the first substrate including the core layer; and a second substrate on the BPSG bonding layer. The optical waveguide according to the present invention effectively prevents an optical loss, improves branching uniformity, and can be simply and inexpensively manufactured.

    • PURPOSE: An optical waveguide device manufacturing method is provided to rapidly and easily attach an adhesive base material which is mounted on the upper part of a clad layer using a simple heat treatment process. CONSTITUTION: A silica fine particle layer for a cover cladding process is arranged on a prepared substrate(100) which includes an embossing type optical waveguide core(160) using a flam hydrolysis deposition technique. An adhesive base material is mounted on the silica fine particle layer. A cover clad layer is formed by melting the silica fine particle layer within a vacuum furnace through a thermal process. The adhesive base material(180) is simultaneously attached on the upper surface of the cover clad layer.

    • PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a coupling structure for an optical module is provided to directly connect an optical fiber to an optical module, thereby saving production costs. CONSTITUTION: A first groove is formed on a board(100) by wet etching using a mask wherein one area of the mask is opened. A second groove is formed by dry etching. The second groove is included in the first groove using the mask. An optical component is guided by an edge of the second groove when an optical component is mounted. The etching depth of the second groove is adjusted when the second groove is formed. An optical waveguide unit(11) comprises an optical waveguide core unit(102) and a cladding unit.

    • PURPOSE: An optical waveguide device and a fabricating method there are provided to planarize an upper part of a core of an optical waveguide. CONSTITUTION: A lower clad layer(41) is formed on a substrate. A pair of projecting part patterns is spaced at a constant interval to form a groove for forming an engraved core pattern on the lower clad layer. The core pattern is formed inside the groove for forming the engraved core pattern. A core slab(45) is spaced from the core pattern at the constant interval at the outside of the groove for forming the engraved core pattern. An upper clad layer(46) is formed on the pair of projecting part patterns, the core pattern, and the upper part of the core slab.
