    • PURPOSE: A gypsum fiber board with improved impact resistance is provided which has improved retention of reinforced materials to the board and stiffness of panel by attaching a rear panel made of glass fiber mesh. The method has advantages in productivity, beauty, cost and so on. CONSTITUTION: It is necessary to attach the mesh vertically on the rear of tri-layers. Because the board expands into several directions during pressing step, the extensible mesh has better adhesive forces to the board. The raw materials used for gypsum fiber board are the same as conventional ones; calcium sulphate and cellulose fiber. The gypsum fiber boards can be considered as not only multilayer but uniform single layer. Tri-layer fiber-reinforced board contains low portion of organic material cores, leading to be inflammable. Reinforcing process comprises lay outing glass fiber mess on formation belt, spreading low layers out, providing additional water for hydration.

    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing a gypsum/fiber board and a gypsum/fiber board prepared by the method are provided, to improve the impact resistance of a gypsum/fiber board by employing a reinforcement mesh. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing fiber, gypsum and water to prepare a wet fiber mixture; layering out a reinforcement mesh(120) on the upper surface of a forming belt; accumulating the mixture on the reinforcement mesh(120) to form a mixture layer having practically uniform consistency; pressing the mixture layer together with the reinforcement mesh to adhere the mesh onto the lower surface of the layer and to form a board which comprises a combined fiber and gypsum and contains the mesh adhered to the surface; and drying the obtained board. Preferably the mesh is not elastic and is glass fiber or textile.
