The image display device further includes a signal processor for converting analog photo sensing voltages generated according to the first and second photo elements to digital photo sensing voltages, and an inverter(190) for controlling the brightness of the backlight assembly in proportion to the digital photo sensing voltages.

    • A light emitting display device is provided to enhance uniformity of brightness of a displayed image by monitoring and compensating the variation of a threshold voltage of a driving transistor. A light emitting diode(OLED) emits light according to an applied current. A first switching element(Tr1) supplies a data voltage from a data line to a first node in response to a first scan signal from a first scan line. A second switching element(Tr2) supplies the data voltage to a second node in response to a first scan pulse. A third switching element(Tr3) adjusts a current flowing through the drain-source electrodes according to the data voltage, and supplies the current to the LED. A fourth switching element(Tr4) enables the third switching element to serve as a source follower buffer in response to the first scan signal, and stores the threshold voltage of the third switching element on a first capacitor. A fifth switching element(Tr5) supplies the data voltage from the first node to a third node in response to a second scan signal, which is inverted from the first scan signal. A sixth switching element(Tr6) connects a source terminal of the third switching element to a second source line in response to the second scan signal.
