The main yoke(12) and the back yoke(14) are respectively made of magnetic material.

The magnetrostrictive type position detection apparatus has a magnetrostrictive line which is extended along the cylinder tube, and a permanent magnet which is moved to be synchronized with the piston. The position detection apparatus detects an operation position of the piston from an ultrasonic wave vibration generated in the magnetrostrictive line of a position corresponding to the permanent magnet. The cylinder tube is formed by a non-mganetic and conductive material. A hollow unit of a hole or groove shape is formed to be extended along the movement direction of the permanent magnet. The magnetrostrictive line is inserted into the hollow unit. A front unit of the magnetrostrictive line is electrically connected to the cylinder tube.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic damper is composed of a movable braking plate(2) for containing a mover(1) of an actuator, and a stator(3) attracting the braking plate by using magnetic force. Magnetic attraction force operating between the stator and the movable braking plate is used as braking force for stopping the mover. The stator is formed of a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, and the mover is operated in the stator. Buffer members(5,6) are made of elastic material such as rubber or sponge, and mounted in the first surface contacted to the mover and the second surface contacted to the inner wall of the braking plate to prevent impact noise by buffering impact at a collision.
