    • PURPOSE: Thiazolidin-4-one derivatives, a preparation process thereof and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are provided. The compounds have antifebrile, analgesic and antiphlogistic activities. CONSTITUTION: Thiazolidin-4-one derivatives represented by the formula 1 or nontoxic salts thereof are provided, wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, C1-C3 alkyl, halogen, halogen substituted methyl, halogen substituted C1-C3 alkoxy, cyano or nitro. A process for preparing the thiazolidin-4-one derivatives of the formula 1 comprises reacting 4-methanesulfonylbenzaldehyde of the formula 2 with aniline derivatives of the formula 3 in the presence of mercaptoacetic acid. A pharmaceutical composition having antifebrile, analgesic and antiphlogistic effects contains the thiazolidin-4-one derivatives of the formula 1 or nontoxic salts thereof and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
