    • PURPOSE: An electronic device, a control method thereof, and an electronic device system are provided to bidirectionally transmit digital signals efficiently such as video between different electronic devices. CONSTITUTION: A data transmitting/receiving unit(132,142) bidirectionally transmits a digital signal using differential signal lanes of a transmission route between the data transmitting/receiving unit and an external device. Controllers(133,143) perform communication between the data transmitting/receiving unit and the external device by a bidirectional communication line. The controller determines a transmission route which is made of the number of used lanes, a used lane number, and a transmission direction. The controller controls the configuration of the digital signal transmitting/receiving unit based on information of the determined transmission route.

    • PURPOSE: An electronic device, a control method of the electronic device, a transmission device, and a receiving device are provided to perform high capacity data communication by performing two-way differential communication without increasing the number of a signal line constituting a transmission line. CONSTITUTION: A source device(110) comprises an I2C communication unit(311), a differential high speed driver/receiver(312), a protocol switch unit(313), and a data buffer(314). A sink device(120) includes an I2C communications unit(321), a differential high speed driver/receiver(322), a protocol switch unit(323), and a data buffer(324). The I2C communication unit performs two-way I2C communication by using two signal lines as an I2C communication line. The differential high speed driver/receiver performs two-way differential communication. The protocol switch unit selectively connects the I2C communication unit or the differential high speed driver/receiver to two signal lines.
