    • A method of estimating OFDM frequency offset based on partial periodogram according to the present invention includes the steps of (a) performing envelope equalized processing (EEP) with respect to an OFDM received signal, (b) estimating an initial offset for the received signal subject to the EEP, and (c) repeatedly estimating a precision offset by using the initial offset and the partial periodogram. The method may further include a step of (d) repeatedly estimating a residual frequency offset in order to estimate offsets that may be generated after the precision offset has been estimated. Accordingly, frequency offset can be estimated with a low amount of computation and reliability.     • A method for estimating OFDM timing offset according to the present invention comprises the steps of (a) generating a repetitive structure OFDM preamble having a transmitter (100) of a random sequence, (b) estimating a timing point to a signal path having maximum power in multi-path signals using a timing metric that a receiver (200) obtains from an auto-correlation function and a cross-correlation function, and (c) estimating a timing point of a first signal path in the multi-path signals using a reciprocal of a sample average value of the timing metric generated by multiplying the auto-correlation function and the cross-correlation function by the receiver (200). The present invention is able to calculate the sample average and dispersion values including all of possible signal paths for the cross-correlation function of a receiving signal and obtain tenacity against an instant power change in the signal path using the timing metric for maximizing the change by the first path, thereby improving performance in a radio communication system using the OFDM method.
