    • PURPOSE: A system and method for recycling engine heat waste are provided to efficiently utilize the waste heat of an engine to a desalination task. CONSTITUTION: A system for recycling engine heat waste comprises an engine(140), a fresh water producing device(160), a fresh water storage part, a chiller, and a controller. The engine is fixed and coupled with a first flow path through which cooling water circulates. The fresh water producing device is branched from the first flow path and is arranged in a second fluid path in which the cooling water circulates. The fresh water storage part stores the fresh water produced by the fresh water producing device. The chiller is branched from the first flow path and is arranged in a third flow path in which the cooling water circulates. The controller controls the fresh water producing device based on at least one of a temperature of the cooling water, flowing in the first flow path, and a level of the fresh water storage part.
