    • A head gimbal assembly and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase impact performance of a head gimbal assembly by making a mass distributed to a base plate 1.5 times larger than the mass distributed to a slider. A head gimbal assembly(60) with improved impact performance comprises a slider(90), a flexure finger(20), a rod beam, and a base plate(72). The slider includes a read-write head(94). The flexure finger is combined with the slider. The rod beam is contacted with the flexure finger. The base plate is combined with the rod beam by a hinge(70). A mass distributed to the base plate is 1.5 time larger than the mass distributed to the slider. A micro-actuator assembly is combined with the slider and the flexure finger additionally to position the read-write head vertically and horizontally to access data on a disc surface.
