    • Provided are a battery external material which can be sealed even at a low temperature irrespective of the increase of thickness of a metal layer, and a pouch type secondary battery containing the battery external material. The battery external material comprises a metal foil layer(122b); a polymer outer layer(122a) which is formed on the first surface of the metal foil layer; and a heat sealing layer(122c) which is formed on the second surface of the metal foil layer, wherein the heat sealing layer comprises polyethylene or a polyethylene-based copolymer. Preferably the heat sealing layer has a thickness of 10-40 micrometers. The polyethylene-based copolymer is selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, an acrylic acid-ethylene copolymer, a methacrylic acid-ethylene copolymer, an ethyl, acrylate-ethylene copolymer, a methyl acrylate-ethylene copolymer, and a methyl methacrylate-ethylene copolymer.

    • PURPOSE: Provided are electrolytes for a Li-ion secondary battery which include additives for controlling overcharge to reduce overcharge current by redox-shuttle mechanism when the battery is overcharged so that they show superior battery stability in overcharge. CONSTITUTION: The electrolytes for the Li-ion secondary battery comprise the components of: the additives for overcharge inhibition represented by formula 1, in which R1 and R2 are respectively same or different and independently H, CH3, CH2NH2, CH2COCH3 or CH2CHOHCH3; lithium salts which are solved in organic solvent and acted as the supply source of Li ions to promote the migration of Li ions between cathode and anode; and an insoluble organic solvent.
