    • PURPOSE: A half bimorph type vibrator of a linear ultrasonic motor is provided to improve performance of the linear ultrasonic motor by forming differently a length ratio of polarization direction, sine waves and cosine waves of applied power of piezoelectric ceramics. CONSTITUTION: A preload is installed at a center portion of an elastic body(12). A plurality of piezoelectric ceramics(11a) having predetermined length are installed on both sides of an upper face of the elastic body(12). A plurality of piezoelectric ceramics(11) having predetermined length are installed on both ends of the upper face of the elastic body(12). A projection(13) is installed on a lower face of the elastic body(12). A plurality of piezoelectric ceramics(11b) having predetermined length are installed at a predetermined position facing the piezoelectric ceramics(11a) of both sides of the preload. The piezoelectric ceramics(11a,11b) and the piezoelectric ceramics(11) have different direction of polarization. The power having different sine and cosine waves is applied to the piezoelectric ceramics(11,11a,11b).
