    • PURPOSE: A method of controlling an electric rotating machine for vehicle is provided to offset magnetic inductance of field winding by using mutual inductance between the field winding and armature winding. CONSTITUTION: An electric rotating machine(1) includes a rotator having a field winding(5) and a stator having an armature winding(3). A field current control unit(9) controls a field current supplied from a DC power source to the field winding. A power converter(6) is used for converting the power of the DC power source to AC power and supplying the electric power to the armature winding. The field current control unit starts to supply the current to the field winding in order to start an internal combustion engine. The power converter is used for supplying the power to the armature winding in order to generate simultaneously magnetic flux to the direction opposite to the field flux of the field winding before starting the power supply.

    • PURPOSE: An elevator system, installed in a shaft accommodated within the height of the top floor of a building in which a hoisting machine is disposed within the shaft, is provided to reduce construction cost required for ensuring a space for installing the elevator system. CONSTITUTION: A couple of turning pulleys for changing a main cable extending between a car and a counterweight from a vertical direction to a horizontal direction are provided in a space between the edge of the car and the interior wall surface of a shaft. A hoisting machine on which a drive sheave is in a rotatable manner such that the rotor axis of the drive sheave is oriented vertically at the upper end of the shaft, such that the lower end of the hoisting machine is located at a position higher than the lower edges of the turning pulleys. As a result, the hoisting machine is disposed in the shaft accommodated within the height of the top floor of a building, and the main cable extends between the car and the hoisting machine.

    • PURPOSE: A linear and rotational moving mechanism is provided to ensure reduced manufacturing costs because the parts of a third screw coupling member, which are coupled with first and second screw coupling members, are formed in opposite directions. CONSTITUTION: First and second linear transfer units(1a,1b) are parallelly arranged and each has a movable element which is transferred in the parallel direction to a fixed element. A first screw coupling member(21a) is fixed to the movable part of the first linear transfer unit and has a rotary shaft parallel to the moving direction of the movable part. A second screw coupling member(21b) is fixed to the movable element of the second linear transfer unit and has a rotary shaft parallel to the moving direction of the movable part. A third screw coupling member is coupled with the first and second screw coupling members. The parts of a third screw coupling member, to which the first and second screw coupling members are coupled, are formed in opposite directions.

    • PURPOSE: An elevator system is provided to have a hoist provided on a car and which can be provided within a shaft corresponding to the height of the top floor of a building. CONSTITUTION: A hoist is placed in the plane orthogonal to a path along which a car is to move vertically. A rotor axis of a sheave is oriented in the vertical direction, and the height of the hoist is arranged so as to become smaller than the diameter of the sheave. The hoist is energized, to thereby move the car vertically by way of a main cable wound around the sheave. A top clearance insured between the lower surface of the top of the shaft and the upper surface of the car when the car is stopped at the top floor can be diminished. The lower surface of the top of the shaft can be made lower than the height of the top floor of a building, thus diminishing construction cost required to ensure a space for installing the elevator system.
