    • PURPOSE: A high pressure fuel pump is provided to improve volume efficiency and prevent generation of fretting of a valve by forming first and second fuel suction ports and first and second fuel discharge ports provided on a valve performing opening and closing for a low pressure fuel suction passage and a high pressure fuel discharge passage on the outside in the radial direction of an opening part of a fuel pressurizing chamber. CONSTITUTION: In a high pressure fuel pump(60) supplying fuel within a fuel pressurizing chamber(32) sucked via a low pressure fuel passage(1) by reciprocating motion of a piston according to rotation of a camshaft of an engine to a fuel injection valve via a valve(61) and via a fuel discharge passage, the valve(61) is incorporated together with a housing(37) and a sleeve(72) into a recessed part(10b) of a casing(10). The valve(61) is formed by arranging first and second fuel suction ports(66,68) and first and second fuel discharge ports on the outside in the radial direction of an opening part(200) of the fuel pressurizing chamber(32) on the outer peripheral part. As a result, the vicinities of the fuel suction ports(66,68) and the fuel discharge ports are pinched by strong force between the casing(10) and the sleeve(72) and generation of a gap can be suppressed.
