    • A method for indicating a start time for cooking in a microwave oven is provided to allow a user to recognize the start time for cooking by generating an alarm sound. A method for indicating a cooking start time in a microwave oven comprises the step of determining if food is placed in the microwave oven(S10). If the food is placed in the microwave oven, it is determined if a time for cooking is set-up(S11). If the time for cooking is set, a waiting time is counted from the set-up time for cooking(S12). Then, it is determined if the counted waiting time exceeds a first set-up time(S13). If the counted waiting time does not exceed the first set-up time, it is determined if a start key for cooking is pressed(S18). If the start key for cooking is pressed, the counted waiting time is reset(S19), and then the cooking is initiated(S20). If the start key for cooking is not pressed, the procedure returns to a step of counting the waiting time.

    • An apparatus for cooling a cook top is provided to operate a cooling system to cool the cook top after finishing a drive of the cook top by driving a cooling fan. An apparatus for cooling a cook top comprises a temperature sensing system linearly switched on and off by a heater of the cook top; a switching system connected to the temperature sensing system in series, and switched by a controlling unit of the cook top; and a cooling system switched on and off by the temperature sensing system and the switching system. The switching system comprises a rotary knob(211) switching on and off the cook top; and a micro-switch(213) having a snap terminal(214) touching with a projection(212) or a groove formed at one side of the rotary knob, and inversely operated against a drive of the cook top by the turn of the rotary knob to be switched on and off. The switching system is installed as many as the heater of the cook top, and connected with each other in series. The temperature sensing system is either a thermistor or NTC(Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor or PYC(positive temperature coefficient) thermistor.

    • An automatic valve safety apparatus operated in connection with a gas range is provided to prevent the danger of a fire which can be generated when a valve is not closed after a user uses the gas range. An automatic valve safety apparatus includes a first switching group, a valve relay(320), a second switching group(400), and a microcomputer. The first switching group is switched by a valve motor. The valve relay is electrically conducted to the first switching group to select the drive direction of the valve motor. The second switching group generates an operation completion signal so that the valve relay can be operated in connection with the completion of the operation of the gas range. The microcomputer transfers a close operation instruction signal to the valve relay in response to the operation completion signal.
