摘要： A multilayer optical film exhibiting excellent screen contrast while suppressing color shift. A liquid crystal panel and a liquid crystal display are also provided. In the first optical compensation layer, a refractive index ellipsoid represents nx>ny>nz. In the second optical compensation layer, the refractive index ellipsoid represents nx>ny>nz. In the third optical compensation layer, the refractive index ellipsoid represents nx>ny>nz or nx>ny=nz. An absorption axis of the polarizer is arranged in the polarizer and the first optical compensation layer to be parallel or vertical to the first optical compensation layer. 摘要： Disclosed is a multilayer optical film which enables to remarkably improve the contrast ratio in an oblique direction, while improving viewing angle characteristics when used in a liquid crystal display or the like. Also disclosed are a liquid crystal panel using such a multilayer optical film, and a liquid crystal display. Specifically disclosed is a multilayer optical film comprising a polarizer, a first optical compensation layer and a second optical compensation layer in this order. The first optical compensation layer has the following refractive index profile: nx > nz > ny, and is arranged in such a manner that its slow axis direction is substantially parallel with or orthogonal to the absorption axis of the polarizer.
