    • An electric power steering device where the entire structure of a control unit is downsized with sufficient heat radiation effect for heat generation members maintained. The power steering device has a steering column (3) in which a steering shaft (2) to which steering torque is transmitted is installed, a reduction gear box (4) connected to the steering shaft (2), and an electric motor (5) for transmitting steering assist force to the steering shaft (2) through a reduction mechanism in the reduction gear box (4). The reduction gear box (4) has a motor mounting part (17) on which the electric motor (5) is mounted and that is located on an end face that is in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the axis of the steering shaft (20). The reduction gear box (4) also has a control unit mounting part (20) that is placed near the motor mounting part (17) and on which the control unit (19) for controlling drive of the electric motor (5) is mounted.
