    • PURPOSE: Provided are a method for culturing porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV) using porcine aminopeptidase N and an attenuated vaccine thereof, thereby the PEDV can be cultured in higher concentration and the attenuated vaccine having improved immunogenecity can be produced. CONSTITUTION: The method for culturing porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV) using porcine aminopeptidase N comprises the steps of: culturing animal cells used for proliferation of PEDV; and inoculating PEDV into the cultured animal cell in a medium containing a cell receptor of PEDV and culturing it, wherein the animal cell is a vero cell; the cell receptor of PEDV is a receptor of porcine enterocyte or porcine aminopeptidase N; the medium for proliferation of PEDV contains α-MEM, 3% tryptose, phosphate broth, 0.3% yeast extract and antibiotics-antimycotic mixture, and has pH 7.2; and the attenuated vaccine for PEDV contains PEDV and the cell receptor of PEDV.

    • PURPOSE: An attenuated porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, an immunogenic composition comprising the same and a method for detecting the same virus are provided. The virus has improved safety, stability, immunogenicity and protection efficiency for a pig. The porcine epidemic diarrhea can be prevented and treated by oral administration of the composition. CONSTITUTION: The attenuated porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(KCCM-10474) is provided. The immunogenic composition comprises the attenuated porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(KCCM-10474) and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers. The method for detecting the same attenuated porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(KCCM-10474) comprises the steps of: (a) providing a sample containing ORF3 DNA derived from the attenuated porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(KCCM-10474); (b) digesting the sample with one or more restriction enzymes selected from Hind III and Xho II, and detecting DNA fragments to obtain RFLP pattern; and (c) comparing the RFLP pattern of the step (b) with the standard RFLP pattern of ORF3 DNA which is obtained by treating the standard sample with the same restriction enzyme and detecting DNA fragments.
