    • PURPOSE: A method for preparing a repellent for water-soluble rubber asphalt paint film having excellent tension strength. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) dissolving a styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer in a non-polar solvent to make a concentration of a solution to be 10-35%; (ii) emulsifying 100 part by weight of the solution of the step (i) with an emulsifying solution comprising 5-10 part by weight of a mixture emulsifying agent and 80-100 part by weight of water; (iii) removing the solvent from the obtained solution in the step (ii) and concentrating it to obtain an emulsion formed styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer; (iv) gradually stirring 200-400 part by weight of asphalt to melt; (v) after putting 0.5-30 part by weight of 0.05-1.0 part by weight of rosinic acid salt, 0.05-1.0 part by weight of oleic acid salt and 0.05-1.0 part by weight of sodium hydroxide in 70-120 part by weight of the emulsion formed styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer with keeping a temperature at 40-50 deg.C, uniformly dispersing them; (vi) putting and dispersing ion exchange water until a solid content becomes 50-90%; then (vii) after putting the asphalt of the step (iv) into the solution of the step (vi) for 0.5-1.5 hour, stirring them in a speed of 20-50 revolutions per minute.

    • PURPOSE: A process for manufacturing a styrene-butadiene latex is provided which gives a latex capable of reducing vulcanization time by mixing with natural rubber, inhibiting a rise in viscosity and reducing aging time in manufacturing rubber. CONSTITUTION: A process for manufacturing a styrene-butadiene latex comprises the following steps of (1)seed-polymerizing by reacting 10 to 30 parts by weight of butadiene monomers, 3 to 10 parts by weight of butylacrylate monomers, 3 to 10 parts by weight of styrene monomers, 0.1 to 1.0 parts by weight of sodium laurylsulfates, 0.1 to 1.0 parts by weight of rosin salts, 0.1 to 1.5 parts by weight of fatty salts, 0,1 to 1.0 parts by weight of phosphates as an electrolyte, 0.2 to 1.0 parts by weight of tertiary dodecyl as a chain transfer agent, 0.1 to 1.0 parts by weight of diisopropyl benzene hydroperoxides as an oxidant, and 0.1 to 0.5 by weight of tetrasodium ethylene diamine tetraacetate hydrides as a catalyst, (2)propagating by reacting 40 to 60 parts by weight of butadiene monomers, 3 to 13 parts by weight of methylmethacrylate monomers, 5 to 25 parts by weight of styrene monomers, 0.1 to 2.0 parts by weight of rosin salts as an emulsifier, 0.2 to 1.0 parts by weight of tertiary dodecyl mercaptans as a chain transfer agent at 12°C for 5 hr, at 20°C for 4 hr and activating the reaction at 25°C.

    • PURPOSE: Provided is the asphalt improver added against deformation of asphalt during calcination, which consists of vulcanizing agent and its accelerator in addition to conventional styrene-butadiene latex. The styrene-butadiene latex is hardly soluble due to excess gel content and the asphalt made by it brings out deformation by heat, heavy vehicle traffics, and bad weather conditions. When vulcanizing agents are used in addition, it cross-links the latex dissolved in asphalt so that viscosity and softening point increases and resists intrusion of other material, thereby, improving the road condition. CONSTITUTION: The asphalt improver is composed of 100wt. parts of styrene-butadiene latex, 0.1-5.0 wt. parts of aqueous solution of sulfur as vulcanizing agent and 0.1-0.3wt. parts of one or more of vulcanizing accelerators chosen from reaction mixture of methylene chloride-formaldehyde, sodium salt of 2-mercaptan benzenethiazole and zinc diethyl dithiotylcarbamate.

    • Provided is a method for polymerizing a styrene-butadiene latex to lower the emulsion polymerization temperature and to control gel content without using a molecular weight controller. The method comprises the steps of injecting a styrene monomer, a butadiene monomer, an emulsifier, an initiator and a reducing agent into a reactor and injecting an oxidation-reduction catalyst solution into the reactor at 30-50 deg.C to initiate the polymerization; and propagating the polymerization at 35-75 deg.C to control the gel content to be 35-65 wt%, wherein oxidation-reduction catalyst solution is prepared by dissolving 0.001-1 parts by weight of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, 0.001-1 parts by weight of ferrous sulfate and 0.001-5 parts by weight of formaldehyde sodium sulfoxylate in 1-20 parts by weight of ion exchange water.
