    • PURPOSE: A catalyst with an inverse concentration gradient of a catalytic metal element and a making method thereof are provided to make a catalyst capable of having high concentration of a catalytic active metal in the center portion of a carrier and low concentration in the outer surface portion. CONSTITUTION: A making method of catalyst with an inverse concentration gradient of a catalytic metal element comprises a step of exchanging OH functional groups existing on the outer surface of a porous carrier with alkyl groups which are low reactive to precursors of an active metal; a step of supplying precursors of an active metal to the porous carrier having alkyl groups on the surface for chemisorptions; a step of purging unadsorbed precursors or by-products with inert gas; a step of exhausting the inert gas and then supplying reactive gas for an atomic layer deposition of the adsorbed precursors and the reactive gas; and a step of additional purging with inert gas. In the carrier obtained though above steps including ALD(Atomic Layer Deposition) process, the concentration of active metal is high in the center portion of the carrier, and low in the outer surface portion.
