    • A novel scheme for producing a variable mechanism assembled in a turbo charger of VGS type, adapted to rotate the variable blades simultaneously, and having a drive ring which brings about an partial improvement of the wear resistance of the input part of the variable mechanism to which shift drive is inputted from an external actuator without attaching a special separate member later is provided. The variable mechanism is characterized in that the drive ring to which the shaft of the variable blades is connected is produced from a blank material formed by punching a metal material having a generally constant thickness, the blank having an extra reinforcing portion other than the actual product of the drive ring is formed, the reinforcing portion is appropriately folded back to partly increase the thickness of the input part to which shift drive is inputted from the actuator, the wear resistance of the input part is thus improved, and the material, thickness, and shape factor are specified.
