    • A method for manufacturing a plugged silicon carbide filter with high impact resistance is provided to produce the filter at low cost by using carbon fiber cheaper than silicon carbide fiber and to increase porosity of the filter by excluding an extrusion method. A method for manufacturing a plugged silicon carbide filter with high impact resistance comprises the steps of: applying a ceramic sealing material(2) on the upper part of one end of a flat carbon fiber sheet(1); laminating a corrugated carbon fiber paper(3) on the flat carbon fiber sheet; applying a ceramic sealing material(2') on the upper part of the corrugated carbon fiber sheet disposed on the opposite end and the end of the flat carbon fiber sheet coated with the ceramic sealing material; laminating a flat carbon fiber sheet(1') on the corrugated carbon fiber sheet; forming a laminate obtained by laminating the flat and corrugated carbon fiber sheets in turn, by repeating from the second step to the fourth step; and dipping the laminate in the slurry containing silicone powder, phenol resin, and alcohol and then drying the laminate; cutting the laminate dipped in the slurry, putting the cut laminate into a mold, and then filling up a gap between the laminate and the mold with the mixture of alpha-SiC(Silicon Carbide) powder and silicone powder; and thermally treating the laminate under inert atmosphere.

      본 발명에 따른 탄화규소 계열 필터의 제조 방법은 평평한 탄소 섬유 시트와 파형화된 탄소 섬유 시트를 교대로 적층하고, 상기 적층으로 형성된 복수개의 단위셀의 어느 한쪽 단부만을 세라믹 밀봉재로 플러깅함으로써, 압출방식에 의하지 않고 기존에 판매되는 순수 탄화규소 섬유보다 상대적으로 저렴한 탄소 섬유를 사용하여 경제적으로 저렴한 탄화규소 복합섬유 필터를 제조할 수 있으며, 상기 방법으로 제조된 탄화규소 복합섬유 필터는 압출 방식에 의한 필터보다 통기성과 경량성이 뛰어나고, 장기간 사용하여도 내열충격성이 우수하면서 동시에 높은 여과효율을 유지할 수 있다. 또한 탄화규소 복합섬유 필터에 내산화막을 형성함으로써 고온 내산화 특성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
